BGI SUPPORTS CYCLING

B&O Trail Association’s mission is to heighten Hoosiers’ quality of life and to enhance Indiana’s communities and countrysides. BOTA promotes preservation, conversion, and redevelopment of the abandoned B&O rail corridor into a linear park for bicyclists, walkers, and equestrians.

Bicycle Indiana is the statewide voice of the Indiana bicycling community. Bicycle Indiana serves all those involved in bicycling by providing information, education, organization, promotion and advocacy. Support Bicycle Indiana with a specialty license plate.

The mission of Bike Indianapolis is to promote bicycling as a safe and viable means of transportation and recreation in Indianapolis. This membership-based organization began in 2010, and is Indy’s only bicycle education and advocacy group. Besides advocating for pro-bicycle public policy such as extending the hours of the Monon Trail or legislating a Complete Streets policy for Indianapolis, they also are involved in community building and fundraising events such as Bike to the 500 and Bike to Work Day.

BISSELL-ABG-GIANT is a USA cycling domestic elite road cycling team based in Indianapolis, Indiana and Grand Rapids, Michigan. BISSELL-ABG-GIANT’s mission is to develop young Midwestern cyclists into professional bicycle racers. 


The Central Indiana Bicycling Association (CIBA) is a not-for-profit organization devoted to encouraging the use of the bicycle as a means for touring, exercising, and commuting.  CIBA holds local bicycle rides as well as large events like the NITE Ride and Hilly Hundred.

The CIBA Foundation is the charitable arm of the Central Indiana Bicycling Association. The CIBA Foundation provides financial and other resources to partner organizations. These partner organizations support the foundation's goal of promoting the benefits of cycling to the Central Indiana community.

The Hoosier Mountain Bike Association is a group of Indiana bicyclists promoting trail advocacy and preservation in Central Indiana. They work to improve trails in areas of heavy use, they educate cyclists on proper trail maintenance and riding behavior, and they also work to build new trails in Central Indiana.

BGI is a proud partner with the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis,  the City of Indianapolis/SustainINDY, and the Indianapolis City Market in the YMCA at the City Market / Indy Bike Hub. This unique facility supports bike commuting in downtown Indianapolis with secure bicycle parking, showers and locker rooms, a fitness facility, and bicycle sales and service from Bicycle Garage Indy Downtown. The facility, in the east wing of the historic Indianapolis City Market, is adjacent to the Indianapolis Cultural Trail. The Hub is also the home of Bicycle Indiana and Bike Indianapolis offices. The Cycle Commuter Task Force (YMCA at the City Market, Bicycle Garage Indy, Bike Indianapolis, Central Indiana Bicycling Associaiton (CIBA) and Commuter Connect) hosts monthly Bicycling Lunch & Learns and monthly Bike-in Breakfasts (April-October). Midwest Devo is a central Indiana junior cycling team. Midwest Devo welcomes riders of any experience between the ages of 7 and 23. The team pactices at the Indy Cycloplex (indycycloplex.com) and takes part in mountain biking, cyclocross, road riding and track races across the midwest with some of our riders competing in national championships. The team’s aim is to encourage the next generation of junior cyclists to love the sport like we do, to be active outdoors, to be part of a team and to give them a great start to a lifetime of cycling.

Nine13sports provides bicycling experiences for youth throughout Central Indiana through their programs: Kids Riding Bikes, Kids Building Bikes, STEM Education and ExploreIndy. They reach 60,000 youth for the past several years, getting more kids excited about bicycling. More info

People for Bikes is a membership organization with the mission of "putting more people on bikes more often." People for Bikes lobbies for bicycle friendly policy, promotes bicycling to the public, supports groups pursuing similar goals, and distributes grants for bicycle facility projects. People for Bikes works with political leaders and national advocacy groups to encourage development of additional projects and other ridership building initiatives. 

Shifting Gears is a program that takes in used bikes and refurbishes them for charitable organizations. Shifting Gears is a partnership including Bicycle Garage Indy, Indiana Department of Correction, and the Nine13sports. You can donate nearly any bike and receive a tax deduction. Bikes may be dropped-off at any BGI retail location. 

The Speedway Wheelmen are a USCF and NORBA bicycle-racing club based in Indianapolis, Indiana with the mission of “working together to promote the development of competitive and fitness cycling."
