Just like a properly prepared pack for an all-mountain epic, Giant's Trance Advanced 27.5 0 has everything you need. Take, for instance, the composite main frame that's stiff for stellar steering through the trees, and the 140mm-travel Maestro suspension with a RockShox Monarch RT3 shock that swallows bumps while staying efficient on the climbs. Big days often require big climbs. You get all the gear range you need and then some thanks to SRAM's XX1 1x11 drivetrain that shifts buttery smooth even under load. A Giant dropper post gets out of your way on the steeps, then returns instantly to its original position when you want to shred tech sections or climb up to get ready for more downhill. And, Giant's 27.5-inch composite wheels wrapped in tacky Schwalbe tires slash the corners and roll over trail chatter with ease. Top it off with SRAM's Guide RSC discs that bring you back down to human speeds and you've got a do-everything trail monster on your hands. Get your epic-ride pack loaded, Giant's Trance Advanced 27.5 0 truly has everything else sorted.
27.5-inch wheels (also known as 650B) offer the best characteristics of 26- and 29-inch wheels for an outstanding ride.
Efficiency: Increasing the wheel diameter decreases the angle of attack (the angle at which round objects meet square objects). The lower the angle, the easier it is to roll over obstacles and maintain momentum.
Traction: With a larger diameter, the tire's contact patch increases, putting more rubber on the trail. A 27.5-inch (650B) has nearly the same contact patch as a 29er for superb acceleration, braking and cornering.
Weight: The weight of a 27.5 wheel, tire and tube is only 5% more than an identically built 26-inch wheel. Compare this to a 12% increase with a 29-inch wheel. Lighter wheels mean a lighter bike, and better climbing and acceleration.
