Want to learn how to ride a bicycle? Now’s your chance. This class is for all bike-beginners!

Riding a bicycle is fun, but sometimes learning HOW to ride a bike for the first time can be a challenge. If you don't know how to ride a bike, these introductory Learn-to-Ride Classes are just for you!

Learn-to-Ride Adult classes are for adults (age 13+) who are ready to learn how to ride a bicycle. It doesn’t matter if you’re 8 or 80, we’ll get you rolling in no time.

Learning to balance is the key to learning how to ride a bike;. Learn-to-Ride classes focus on this critical skill first. After students learn to balance successfully, pedaling is easy. During the class, students will work on braking with hand brakes, balancing, coasting, turning, starting, stopping. If progress in coasting and balancing for at least 40 feet is accomplished, learning to pedal is easy. Most people learn to ride in one session, but even if they don’t, they’ll leave equipped with an easy, low-stress way to teach themselves—or, they can join us for another class or individual lesson as a follow-up!

Sign up for a Learn-to-Ride Class and we'll help you start riding! Youth under age 16 must be accompanied by a parent.

Learn-to-Ride Classes are taught by Bicycle Garage Indy’s Advocacy Director Connie Szabo Schmucker. She has taught dozens of people of all ages (youth and adults) how to ride a bike for the first time.
